Right from the start we decided to that Wallace Stuart would strive to provide the best quality, most affordable and caring funeral service in Somerset. So we turned to The Good Funeral Guide, a trusted independent, not-for-profit information resource for funeral advice.
We were inspired by the ethos and work of Charles Cowling from The Good Funeral Guide and met Charles shortly after Wallace Stuart opened in 2012. He arrived in North Petherton, Bridgwater to assess our funeral home over tea and cake!
About The Good Funeral Guide
The Good Funeral Guide is wholly independent of the funeral industry and is dedicated to supporting, empowering and representing the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK. Set up by Charles Cowling and now run by the fabulous Fran Hall.
Each year, The Good Funeral Guide hold a glittering awards evening, hosted by different celebrities each year. It is an evening of praising those “unsung heroes” of the funeral industry. Those that go that extra mile to be special and stand out from the rest.
So the journey started. Our funeral company joined the Recommended Directory of The Good Funeral Guide as Wallace Stuart Independent Lady Funeral Directors. That first year we were very busy with funeral services and cremations in Yeovil to Burnham on Sea and Weston-super-Mare to Taunton and Wellington to Frome and Glastonbury.
The following year, in 2013, one of our families told us they had nominated us for one of the awards under the category “Most Promising New Funeral Director”.
